Avignon
With a long and colourful history, Avignon is bursting with life, youth, art, music and activity. Most famously known for it's bridge which was erected in the 12C, Avignon also includes the 'Palais des Papes' and majestic Cathedral that look down to the plains of the Rhone river. Wander the narrow streets inside the fortified walls or visit the numerous shops and museums. During July experience the International Theatre Festival.
